Scanning and Validating Assets via SC Provider for FTM Internal Techs

Let’s say you require your technicians to validate assets. To work on the assigned service requests in SC Provider, technicians should validate the associated assets.

When do technicians scan and validate assets?

  • Upon check-in: If the work order has an associated asset, external and in-house technicians should scan and validate the asset tag when checking in.
  • Upon editing a work order: When in-house technicians need to add to or change an asset on a work order via the details screen, they can scan the asset tag and validate that the actual location of this asset matches the asset location per the Asset Manager database. External technicians can do this only if the Change Asset rule is set to Yes on the Asset Rules page of Asset Manager.
  • Upon creating a work order: In-house technicians can scan an asset when creating a work order.
