Asset Meter Reading

Companies who want to capture data points for the assets that they operate can do so by creating and assigning Asset Meters to their assets. The Asset Meter is a configurable tool that allows the user to capture valuable data points/values about assets including, but not limited to:

  • Mileage
  • Battery Charge
  • Cycles
  • Carbon Value Units
  • Ampere
  • Kilometers
  • Feet
  • Centimeters
  • Pounds
  • Voltage
  • Wattage
  • Ounces

With the Asset Meter Reading feature enabled, users can configure the type of information they want to be captured for identified assets. Once the assets have been identified and the type(s) of information determined, users can set how often the data points are captured and entered into Service Automation. You can also add Asset Meter Reading with SC Mobile

Contact your ServiceChannel representative to learn how to enable Asset Meters.

Asset Meters are assigned at the Asset Type level. Therefore, all assets that are a part of an Asset Type with an associated Asset Meter will have the assigned Asset Meter attached to them as well. For assets that have an Asset Meter, an additional tab, titled Asset Readings will be added to the Asset Detail page. On the Asset Readings screen users can:

  • View Asset Meter data
  • Add new meter readings for the asset
  • Filter asset reading data for user defined date ranges
  • Filter asset readings by meter name
  • Export asset readings in an Excel optimized spreadsheet

Allowing Providers to Enter Asset Meter Reading

You can enable providers to enter Asset Meter Reading on your behalf. Once meter readings have been added onto an asset type, the provider sees this information. They are allowed to enter the specific reading on an asset. It immediately becomes available in Service Automation where it is viewable and editable. Once enabled, the providers can enter the reading in Provider Automation and SC Provider Mobile
