Asset Intelligence
Asset Intelligence is a feature of /wiki/spaces/IK/pages/856097690. With Asset Intelligence, you can easily review pertinent information about an asset, including, but not limited to:
Initial cost
Total amount spent on repairs
Warranty expiration date
Condition
Links to past work orders
Links to past invoices
The information provided is useful for determining whether or not an asset needs to be retired or kept in use. Additionally, Asset Intelligence keeps you informed of the assets warranty period and expiration date. Knowing that an asset is under warranty may determine the service provider selected to service the asset as well as determining who the service charge is billed to.
Accessing Asset Intelligence
The Asset Intelligence modal can be accessed by switching to the Asset Details that on the work order details page. To get the full benefit of Asset Intelligence, the asset’s attributes need to be added in Asset Manager. If the pertinent attributes were not added when the asset was added to Service Automation, they can be added by editing the asset in Asset Manager.
Adding Attributes to Assets
Select Manage Assets, under Asset (Equipment), on the hamburger menu.
Select the asset you want to edit from the list (you can use filters to reduce the number of items on the list).
Click the asset tag ID to open the asset details screen.
Add the relevant attributes, such as purchase date, warranty expiration date, warranty not-to-exceed amount, and initial cost to the asset’s attributes.
Click the Save Changes button at the bottom of the page to save your changes.
When adding attributes, be sure to add or update the asset’s condition. The asset’s condition is important when making decisions as to whether or not to retire an asset.
