Managing Proposal Labels

ServiceChannel allows you to tag proposals along with the work orders to which the proposals correspond. Consequently, you save time on tagging proposals and work orders together and prevent clutter in the proposals.

Adding Labels to Proposals

While taking action on proposals, you can add, remove, and edit labels that immediately display on the proposal and the corresponding work order.

Should you decide to take action on the label on the work order from the Work Orders List, the label change will reflect on the proposal and vice versa.

⦿ How to Add Labels to Proposals
  1. On the top navigation bar, click Proposals.
  2. Choose the proposal to which you want to add a label.
  3. In the lower right-hand corner, click More. The list of available actions to take appears:
    • Edit
    • On Hold
    • Approve
    • Reject
    • Return
    • Assign

  6. (Optional) Should you need to remove the label, click the Cross icon  next to the label or select None in the drop-down list.
  7. Click Update. The label now appears on the proposal and linked work order.

If you are an MLP user, the label you have added may appear on the proposal only. Read Managing Labels for MLP Users to learn why this happens.

Managing Proposal Labels for MLP Users

Each multi-level proposal (MLP) employee can add, remove, and edit labels on proposals. Generally, the label will display on both the proposal and work order. However, in case a non-final MLP employee needs to take action on the proposal with no work order linked, the label displays only on the proposal until the final MLP employee approves the work order creation.

Compare how a proposal label displays on a work order depending on the employee’s MLP level.

Post It to Originated Work Order

When a proposal is posted to the originated work order:

Final MLP EmployeeNon-Final MLP Employee

All changes will impact labels of the originating work order.

Non-final MLP employees can take action on labels without the final MLP employee’s approval.

All changes will impact labels of the originating work order.

Generate New Work Order

When you need to generate a new work order for the proposal:

Final MLP EmployeeNon-Final MLP Employee

All changes to labels will impact the new work order created as a result of this action.

The label applies to the proposal.

All changes to labels will impact the new work order created as a result of this action only when the final MLP level approves the generation of a new work order.

As soon as a new work order creation is approved, the label applies to this new work order.

Select Existing Work Order

When you link a proposal to the existing work order:
