Setting Up Planned Maintenance Work Orders for Asset Meter Reading

Asset Meter Reading and Planned Maintenance Work Orders

Companies who wish to collect usage or operational data on their assets can use Planned Maintenance work orders as a method of data collection and data reporting. Meter Reading Planned Maintenance work orders are created in the same manner as standard Planned Maintenance work orders. The only difference is that asset meter reading planned maintenance work orders are created to gather data on an asset’s usage or operational status as opposed to standard planned maintenance work orders which are created to service an asset.

Step 1: Adding a New PM Service

  1. Navigate to the hamburger menu, and select Planned Maintenance > PM Services.

  2. Click Add New Service.

  3. In the Add New Service overlay, provide the following information:

    1. Trade

    2. Category (must select Asset Readings)

    3. Priority 

    4. Full status

  4. Enter a description.

  5. (Optional) Check the boxes next to Append Service Window to the Problem Description and Append Frequency to the Problem Description, as needed.

  6. Enter the email address of those who should be notified.

  7. Click Add New PM Services button to add the PM service.

Step 2: Adding a Frequency to the PM Service

  1. Locate the desired PM service, then click the Frequencies link to add a frequency.

  2. In the Add New Frequency overlay that appears, configure the frequency to your specifications. See Adding Frequencies to Planned Maintenance Services for more information on configuring frequencies.

  3. When the required information is provided, click Save Frequency.

Step 3: Adding Locations

  1. Click the Locations link to access the locations page.

  2. Locate the locations that the PM service is to be assigned to either by filtering or sorting locations or by clicking the Unassigned button.

  3. Check the box next to the locations the PM service is to be assigned to. Then click the Assign button to assign the locations to the PM. The number next to the button indicates the number of locations selected.

Step 4: Adding Assets to the Planned Maintenance Service

  1. Click the location bar to open the Edit Location overlay.

  2. Add the Quantity, Subtotal, Tax, and PO Number as needed.

  3. Click Choose Assets. You see a list of assets available at the location where the asset trade corresponds to the PM service trade.
  4. Select the assets that are to be included. Then click Return to Location Update or Update Assets for Location to add the assets to the PM.

Each of the three assets are assigned to individual work orders with their associated meters.
