Creating Refrigerated Assets

Creating refrigerated assets requires that you have first added refrigerated inventory in Inventory Manager and have created a refrigerated asset type, with the appropriate attributes, for the asset you are creating. 

Note: If you need set up assets that are connected to a rack, you must create the rack asset type and rack asset before you can associate assets that are connected to a rack.

⦿ How to Create a Refrigerated Asset
  1. Navigate to the hamburger menu > Assets (Equipment) > Manage Assets. You land on the assets list.

  2. Click the +Add button.

  3. In the Location drop-down menu, select the location where the asset will be assigned by entering the location ID.
  4. In the Area (Physical/Serving) field, enter the location, within the facility, where the asset will be placed.
  5. Select the required refrigeration or HVAC asset type.

    Note: After you have selected the Asset Type, the screen will populate with the additional requirements for the asset you are creating. Fields followed by a red asterisk are required and must have a value entered into the field.

  6. In the Refrigerant Usage Type field, select the required usage type.

    1. Rack
    2. Connected to a Rack
    3. Self Contained Asset

  7. Complete the remaining required fields.
  8. Click the Add Asset button to complete the creation of the asset.

The next step in the process is to create the assets. There are three distinct types of refrigerated assets, a Rack, an asset Connected to a Rack, and a Self Contained unit. If you are creating an asset connected to a rack, you will have to create the rack asset first, so it will be selectable when creating the asset connected to it.

Note: When creating a refrigerated asset, you have the option of adding a service provider who is not currently registered with ServiceChannel. ServiceChannel has created this feature to provide your company with the flexibility to work and manage external service provider relationships. This feature provides an additional layer of accountability and tracking, as required by local and national laws.
