Refrigerant Asset Work Order Management

To assist in meeting the required regulations, Service Channel has built a Refrigerant Work Order Management module. Refrigerant Tracking Manager provides the user with the ability to:

  • Track leak rates from commercial refrigeration systems, industrial refrigeration systems, air conditioning or HVAC systems and other types of systems that use 50 pounds refrigerants or more
  • Manage refrigerated assets
  • Track inventory across multiple locations
  • Record Leak Event
  • Record refrigerant use
  • Perform leak rate calculations in accordance with regulatory agencies
  • Maintain leak record history and the resulting action(s)
  • Provide data for GreenChill reporting (Optional)

In the event that a leak record is triggered, the module prompts the user to create a leak record that includes the amount of refrigerant that has leaked, the type of refrigerant leaked, the repair date, the leak location, and a follow-up inspection to ensure that the leak has indeed been repaired. All of the required and relevant information is maintained within the Refrigerant Tracking manager, giving the user effortless access to the information that drives business decisions and assists in maintaining good brand image by remaining in compliance with EPA regulations for the release of greenhouse gases.

As with many of the ServiceChannel products, Refrigerant Tracking Manager integrates seamlessly with other SC products such as Field Tech Manager, Service Automation, Provider Automation, Provider Enterprise, Asset Manager and Inventory Management.

Benefits of Refrigerant Tracking Manager

One of the many benefits of the Refrigerant Tracking Manager is the ability to track the maximum leakage threshold of a given system or appliance. The Refrigerant Tracking module allows the user to define the charge threshold preferences and trigger percentages. By setting the threshold at or below the regulatory maximum, users can put into place or activate preventative measures to ensure that compliance is maintained. The Refrigerant Tracking module also maintains a record of leaks, type of refrigerant used, a repair history and any retrofit and or retirement plans for a given system.Active users of the Refrigerant Tracking module will be able to ensure their compliance to regulatory requirements and special reporting for project like GreenChill.

Additional benefits of the Refrigerant Tracking Manager is that it adds another layer of protection for your company by protecting your company from fines and fees for not being in compliance with the federal EPA regulations.

Refrigerant Tracking Requirements

The EPA requires that any system or stand-alone device that uses 50 pounds of refrigerant or more must keep detailed records on the total system charge, the type of refrigerant used the date of the last charge and the amount used during the last charge. Additionally, companies must:

  • Keep records of every refrigerant used for the last three years
  • Calculate leak rates every time refrigerant is added
  • Keep a record of each event that exceeded EPA threshold
  • Resolve leaks within thirty days
  • Create retrofit or retirement plans for any leaks not fixed within thirty days
