Viewing Refrigerant Leak Events

When a refrigerated asset that contains ozone depleting refrigerants has a leak, it is required by law that several steps be taken to capture all of the elements of the event. Therefore, whenever a leak is discovered and reported, a Leak Event is created, as part of the work order work flow.

In Service Automation, you can view the results of a Leak Event by navigating to Refrigerant Leak Events in Asset Manager. On this tab, you can scroll through leak events and view their information. Additionally, you can view all associated work orders by opening the Parts Usage and Associated Work Orders drop-down list. When necessary, you can add an additional note to the record by clicking the Add Leak Note link.

In the screenshot below, Leak Event 151 contains all of the relevant regulatory information of the event. Additionally, the leak event record allows users with appropriate permissions to view notes, add notes, and view information regarding any associated work orders, along with the associated work order number and the assigned service provider.

Filtering Leak Events

On the Refrigerant Leak Events page, there are several options for viewing and filtering leak event records. Across the top of the Leak Events screen are three tabs and a drop-down menu, All, In Progress, Closed and a date range drop-down menu that is defaulted to Past 12 Months.

These tabs and menu selections can be used to filter through leak records. Additionally, leak event records can be filtered through using the filter tab, which filters leak event records by:

  • Location
  • Tracking #
  • Asset Type
  • Asset Tag
  • Leak Location

ServiceChannel has built into its Refrigerant Work Order Management System all that is needed to track the use of refrigerants, therefore, providing your company what it needs to remain compliant with local and national laws.
