Navigating the Work Order List in SC Provider Mobile

Work orders created by your clients and assigned to you appear in the Work Orders section of the ServiceChannel Provider app.

A list of work orders from the mobile side

The WOs list displays work orders for both the past 90 days and 90 days into the future.  On the Work Order screen, technicians have five ways of locating work orders:

  • Assigned;
  • All;
  • Sort;
  • Search; and
  • Filter

Work orders listed under Assigned are work orders that have been assigned to the technician. A work order can be assigned by

  • their administrator manually,
  • automatic assignment based on specific rules (like Location or Trade), or
  • when a technician accepts a work order under the All tab.

The number in parentheses indicates how many work orders have been assigned to the technician.

Work orders listed under All are all of the work orders dispatched to the provider organization.

The Sort feature provides the technician with an easy to use tool for sorting work orders by various preset criteria.

The Search feature is used to search for work order by the work order number, Service ID or purchase number.

The Filter feature allows the technician to create three unique filters that are used to locate work orders. Each of the methods for locating work orders are easy to use and intuitive, meaning that the information you are looking for is usually just a tap away.

    • Weight.

  • On the Notes tab, all notes for the current WO are listed. By tapping the plus icon in the lower right corner of the screen, you can add a new note or an attachment to the work order. Hit the Action Required toggle here if you want to send a notice to your employer or the client.

Subcontractor tab within the mobile app.

As a technician of a subcontractor, you will have a slightly different experience once you head to the WOs list.

Being a subcontractor’s tech implies that the provider you work for receives service requests not only from a client directly but also from another provider with whom your company established subcontractor relationships via the Work Order Assignment section (aka WorkForce).

On the WOs list, you see the following three tabs:

  • Assigned (#): Shows work orders assigned to you by your company via the Work Order Assignment section.
  • Direct: Displays work orders — including those assigned to you — dispatched to your company directly by a client.
  • Subcontracted: Lists work orders — including those assigned to you — routed to your company by another provider rather than directly by a client.

Based on your company account settings, you may have access to the Assigned (#) tab only.
