Canceling a Work Order in Dashboard 2.0

Canceling a work order is appropriate if the service is no longer necessary. Generally, work orders in either the Open or In Progress statuses can be cancelled, though your configuration may allow work orders in other statuses to be cancelled.

Your dashboard permissions determine if you are able to cancel a work order.

⦿ How to Cancel a Work Order
  1. On the Open Work Orders page, click Details next to the desired work order. The detailed view of the work order displays.
  2. Click Add New Work Order Note. The Add a Note for <Tracking #> pop-up appears, with your name auto-populated.
  3. Enter a note detailing specific reason for the cancellation.
  4. (Optional) Select the Action Required check box should you want the recipient(s) to take further action on the work order.
  5. In the Choose Status drop-down menu, select Completed/Cancelled.
  6. In the Choose Recipient drop-down menu, select the recipient(s) to receive the emailed cancellation notice. (To select multiple users, hold the Shift key or Control key (PC) / Command key (Mac) and select desired usernames.)
  7. (Optional) Enter desired additional emails in the Enter Email Address(es) Here box.
  8. Click Add Note. The Note Summary page displays with two notes:
    • The status changed to Completed/Cancelled, along with your comment.
    • The service cancellation dispatches to the service provider’s email.

Notifying the Service Provider

For cancelled emergency requests, it is imperative to call the listed service provider immediately. In cases where a contact phone number is not displayed, contact your facilities manager or administrator about the cancellation, referencing the appropriate work order number.
