Features and improvements
Admin. Grant the required privileges to users in two clicks when you’re on the Permissions tab of an employee profile. Once you choose an option from the new Primary Roles dropdown, permissions and secondary roles required for this primary role become selected right away — so you don’t have to spend your time on slipping through a vast list of user privileges. Ask ServiceChannel to configure that new thing for you!
Admin. You can set up operating hours and add holidays for your locations in Admin > Location Settings > Business Hours. What for? When a work order is created for one of your locations, the WO scheduled date will be calculated based on the location business hours. This designed to avoid cases when WOs are scheduled for holidays or for time periods outside the location business hours. Kindly ask your ServiceChannel representative about the exact date when this feature will be available to you.
Dashboard. In Dashboard 2.0, you can finally search for work orders! Use the search box in the top right of the Work Order History tab to find work orders by tracking number, scheduled date, caller, area, status, or description.
General. Welcome our Verified Provider program! We offer contractors to sign up for this program where a third party validates that their ServiceChannel account is associated with the actual, physical business. Once verified, providers are designated as such on their profile and directory and appear right at the top of search results when clients look for new providers. Invoices. Get the most out of your regular report on invoices! We can embed the asset tag ID information into the invoices report. Talk to your ServiceChannel representative about enabling this feature for you.
Payment Manager. We’ve enhanced our Payment Manager so that you have more visibility and control over payments to multiple providers. Within the module, you can automate online payments to your providers, keep track of each payment status, manage payment methods, take advantage of early payment discounts, and more. Let us know if this module is exactly what your company needs!
Proposals. With our multi-level proposal (MLP) feature enabled, you can create a hierarchy of proposal approvers. Once a proposal is approved by the first level, it moves to the next one until the proposal gets the final approval. To get the ball rolling, you need to configure MLP levels and rules based on trades, categories, and amounts via templates. Contact us to start using the MLP feature!
Refrigerant Tracking Manager. Providers can add assets and info on used refrigerants to work orders assigned to them — even if providers have been retired from the WO location and trade combination. To add the required info, they need to click Enter Refrigerant Usage on the WOs list.
SC Provider. With this release, you can change the app notification sounds so that you always know when an emergency work order arrives. Check with your ServiceChannel representative about turning this feature on.
Supply Manager. Our new feature allows you to update the info on materials ordered via Supply Manager. On the work order details page, go to the Invoice & Materials / Parts tab, and click the pencil icon ✐ next to Materials Ordered. Talk to your ServiceChannel representative about enabling this feature for you.
Work Orders. To improve your work order review process, add additional questions that will appear when your colleagues star rate WOs. Answers to these questions will provide valuable information on your providers’ performance. Depending on your configuration, the review info appears on the WO details page and in Excel reports. Reach out to ServiceChannel to learn how to submit custom review questions and make them work in Service Automation, including your dashboard.
Work Orders. You can star rate work orders and answer custom review questions via email without logging into your dashboard! From the review reminder email, click the link to open the web page for rating the WO. Want to try it out? Get hold of ServiceChannel, and we will be happy to enable this feature for you.
Bug fixes
Admin. Some of you couldn’t delete unused categories. You clicked ❌ next to the desired category, but it wasn’t removed.
Dashboard. For some of you, to create a service request for particular areas was not feasible. When you selected an area, problem type, asset as well as problem and then hit Next, you got an error and couldn’t go further.
Proposals. In Excel reports on proposals, proposal amounts were formatted as text, which didn’t allow you to calculate the total sum or perform other arithmetic operations. Now amounts are formatted as numbers, and you can easily do the math.
Proposals. You couldn’t filter proposals by proposal creation, scheduled, or approval date in Excel reports because all the dates were formatted as text. The cells format is correct now — feel free to filter proposals by a specific year, month, or day!
SC Provider. When internal technicians were reassigning a work order to their peers, the list of internal techs contained employees with disabled accounts. No more inactive accounts on the list!
Work Orders. Some providers couldn’t automate assigning WOs to subcontractors. After a provider selected trades and locations in the overlay for assigning WOs to a subcontractor, an error message appeared stating that this subcontractor should be assigned to the trade and location.
Work Orders. When you added a note to a batch of WOs, email notifications were sent not to the provider’s email for new notes but to their email for new WOs. Now notifications follow the provider dispatch preferences correctly.
