Features and improvements

Core modules

Invoices
. One GL code per invoice didn’t allow you to track individual labor, material, or other invoice costs. But the situation has changed in your favor — now, you can set multiple GL codes per invoice! Along with the main GL code, add a specific approval code for each charge type or line item of an invoice. On the invoices list, you can also use line-item GL codes to search for invoices. 📞 Contact your CSM to start using this feature.

Proposals. Give the redesigned proposals list a try! As you opt to view proposals, you land on the new proposals list. The new look and feel are similar to those on the work orders and invoices lists: with the panel for filtering and searching on the left, tabs with statuses at the top, as well as proposal cards with key details and action buttons. Share your thoughts about the things you like and suggestions for improvement by clicking Leave Feedback in the upper-right corner of the list.

Provider Search. We’ve enhanced the process of inviting providers into your network via Provider Search. The new invitation flow allows you to be more specific about the services you need the provider for. You select the trades and locations, and the statistics on the number and priority of work orders are automatically generated. With this detailed description of what you are looking for, the provider can better evaluate the opportunity and make an informed decision.

Provider Directory. Invitations that providers receive from clients to join their network have been completely redesigned so that providers can get more information about the required services. An emailed invitation now includes trades, locations, work order count, and priority. This helps providers better assess the customer needs in relation to their availability. Currently, this improved flow is available only to providers located in the US. More information you will find in SCU.

Work Orders. It’s time to lift the veil on the feature that will help you decrease the daily flood of notification emails about WO updates. A single email will be sent out once you edit a work order and enter a note in addition to that. Let’s say you adjust the WO scheduled date and add a note explaining why. Instead of two separate email notifications, one email will include both changes.

Work Orders. Once you approve a proposal created by your provider to request an NTE change for a work order, we now add a more informative note to this WO. It specifies the new NTE amount alongside the previous one, making it easier to see how much the NTE has changed.2

Work Orders. Track the original NTE amount in the work order notes. The first note that is automatically added to a work order after you submit it contains the original NTE amount.

General. In both of our mobile apps, SC Mobile and SC Provider, you will notice a data center switcher at the bottom of the login screen. It has two options: Global (default) and Europe. Important: Please DO NOT switch from the default to European data center unless you are led by your ServiceChannel representative. Log in to the mobile app as you usually do — without changing the switcher option. Note that the European data center is designed to host companies with the registered address and locations in Europe. For more information, contact your ServiceChannel representative.

Add-on modules

Inventory Manager
. Capture the precise whereabouts of items stored within your inventory locations! Having such details as Area, Aisle, Shelf, and Bin specified for each item in our enhanced Inventory Manager helps minimize the time spent looking for the required items. Here are the ways to add this information:

a) When creating or updating stock records on the Parts Catalog tab
b) When updating or adding parts to an inventory location on the Locations tab
c) When uploading stock via template from the Locations tab

Refrigerant Tracking Manager. More details in leak records! When you view leak events in Assets (Equipment) > Refrigerant Leak Events, you can check the Leak Cause to see what triggered the leak and the Resolution to learn about the action taken by the provider to fix it.

Bug fixes

Core modules

Analytics
. Scheduled reports were emailed to some of you twice in a row, clogging your inbox. No more duplicates.

Dashboard. A wrong currency was detected on work orders created via dashboard. When location managers were creating a service request, the NTE amount currency that got automatically selected for this WO didn’t match the dashboard default currency. From now on, the currency on the WO submission page defaults to the currency you set on the General tab of your dashboard settings.

Proposals. When providers scheduled an approved proposal for a new date but left the Update Work Order Scheduled Date checkbox disabled, no scheduled date change took place, which was the expected behavior. However, the email alert that was sent out contained an updated scheduled date. No more confusion — email alerts display the correct schedule date.

Site Planning Manager. Employees who had access to specific regions and districts could download site planning reports for all locations regardless of the region and district restrictions. The restrictions are observed — users can only download reports according to their Location, District, and Region Access.

Work Orders. Those who used Internet Explorer couldn’t reassign work orders. Once they tried to, a loading wheel appeared and never went away. Reassignment goes as expected now.

Add-on modules

Projects
. Applied filters kept resetting after you started, canceled, edited, or took any other action on a project, making you start all over again. Just a few tweaks on our side — and the filters you set remain applied unless you leave the module.

Refrigerant Tracking Manager. Some work orders with an open leak record somehow escaped the Completed / Open Leak Record status and moved to Completed / Confirmed. In such cases, a leak record was added to the WO that was already in the Completed / Pending Confirmation status, where the system didn’t check for open leak records. Now the system is more attentive to leak records on work orders regardless of their status.
