Managing Single Sign-On for SC Mobile

People who connect to Service Automation via their company intranet can sign in to the ServiceChannel Mobile app using our mobile access code system, which is widely known as single sign-on. But before that, admins should specify what type of employees can generate mobile access codes: all users without exceptions or all users excluding dashboard users.

Alternatively, admins can disable single sign-on for SC Mobile.

⦿ How to Activate Mobile Access
  1. Click the menu icon in the upper-left corner, and select Admin > Permissions > Mobile. The page with the mobile apps settings is displayed.
  2. In the ServiceChannel Mobile section, select who should be allowed to use the mobile access code system:
    1. All Users Excluding Dashboard Only Users: Only corporate users can generate mobile access codes. Dashboard only users won’t have this option available.

Corporate users are people who land on the Actionable Landing Page (ALP) upon login.
Dashboard only users are those who go directly to their Dashboard once logged in and don’t have access to Service Automation as corporate users.

    2. All Users: Both corporate and dashboard only users will have the option to generate mobile access codes.
  3. Click Save under the ServiceChannel Mobile section.

The employees who are allowed to generate their own access code can find the Mobile Access Code item in the upper-right menu. They can get a code there and use it to log into the ServiceChannel Mobile app. Learn more on how to generate mobile access codes.

Requesting Digital Signatures Upon Check-Out

When technicians check out of a work order via SC Provider, you can prompt them to obtain a digital signature of a staff member that works at the service location. That may be required to confirm the job is done or the check-out information is correct.
