Features and improvements
Admin. To grab the attention of those who use location note headers (LNHs) in Analytics, we’ve placed a warning on the Location Note Headers page. The message alerts you that changing the order of LNHs may cause issues with your Analytics reports. Forewarned is forearmed, right?
General. Ahoj and Сześć! Czech and Polish speakers were dreaming of using the ServiceChannel platform in their native tongue. Their wish came true — our web and mobile apps now support these languages.
General. Welcome our new “Wiki Editor” user role! With this role at hand, you can grant editing rights for the location’s Wiki to your employees. Look for this role on the Permissions tab of a user profile.
Invoices. Ever thought of requiring your providers to add multiple other charges to an invoice? Just as providers break down material and labor charges, they can now itemize other costs when creating line-item invoices. You, in turn, can specify what trades and categories need line items for this type of charges. Ask your ServiceChannel representative how to activate the feature.
Refrigerant Tracking Manager. To help you stay in compliance with Environment Protection Authority (EPA) requirements, we’re introducing multiple enhancements to refrigerant management. These include managing the refrigeration certification of technicians, creating and maintaining leak detector assets, downloading refrigerant use reports, and more. Contact ServiceChannel to learn about other updates and how to get them.
Site Access. With our upgraded Site Access solution, you can configure the rules for the technicians’ check-in process. In your admin settings, you can manage the following: the IVR check-in, check-in outside the geolocation radius of the WO location or outside the location operational hours, badge scanning upon check-in, and more. To start benefiting from this feature, get hold of your ServiceChannel representative!
Work Orders. Decide for which work order statuses your employees can edit the purchase order (PO) number. In the admin settings, you can select any status — including “Completed”. Thus, even for invoiced WOs, your colleagues will have a chance to update the PO number on the WO details page. To start using the feature, reach out to ServiceChannel.
Work Orders. Good news for those who want to filter work orders by multiple criteria at once! Select desired options on the filters panel, and then click Apply — your WOs get filtered in the blink of an eye. This feature is now available to you and your providers.
Work Orders. The ability to link existing service requests is what becomes possible with our new feature. When editing a WO, you can select WOs that should become follow-ups from the Linked Work Orders dropdown. Interested? Get hold of your ServiceChannel representative to add this feature.
Work Orders. A new way to view work orders is at your disposal. Our interactive map allows you to view all your locations, check the WOs created for each of them, and even create new service requests. Can’t wait to try it out? Switch to the map view using the toggle in the upper-right corner of the WOs list.
Work Orders. To get the most out of the WOs map view, try our new weather overlay. You can track various weather events — precipitation, hurricanes, fires, and more — right on the map, which allows you to get ready for severe weather and protect your facilities in advance. Talk to your ServiceChannel representative about how to enable this feature for you.
Bug fixes
Admin. Couldn’t download a report on your providers? Our bad. The Service Providers section allows exporting the file without issues now.
Admin. Next time you add an MLI rule in the MLI Configuration section, we won’t preselect all categories for this rule as we did before. Now it’s totally up to you which categories to choose.
Compliance Manager. The percentage of provider profile completion was different on your side and the provider's side. Why? The business basics info was taken into account when calculating the percentage for you and was ignored for your provider. To prevent this mismatch, the business basics info no longer affects the percentage on your side.
Dashboard. Some of you were able to submit a service request with the not-to-exceed (NTE) amount above your limit. Bypassing NTE limits isn’t possible anymore.
General. The hamburger menu was affected by an interface glitch. Once you switched to French, Spanish, or Russian by using the language toggle in the lower-left corner, the menu came into view with the left side cut off. Providers also faced this issue — but with the French language only.
Work Orders. After reassigning a work order to another provider, you saw an alert confirming the WO was reassigned, but it was not clear to whom — the message had no company name.
Work Orders. Contractor-initiated work orders changed their status for no reason. After providers created a WO via SC Provider, the service request status flipped from “Completed/Pending Confirmation” to “In Progress/On Site”. Done with this weird behavior!
Work Orders. Invoice-related dates, such as the invoice approval date, were displayed incorrectly in the WO notes. The last two digits of the year became cut off. As a result, you saw 20 instead of 2020.
Work Orders. If something went awry on our side when you edited the check-in/out info for a WO, you got a techy error message that threw you off balance. We’ve updated the message — it now explains what happened and what should be done.
