Whenever you need to create multiple refrigerated assets en masse, you can take advantage of the asset import template.

Tip

Before you upload assets, make sure you have the required asset types added to Asset Manager as well as refrigerant types loaded to Inventory Manager.

title⦿ How to Create Refrigerated Assets via Template
  1. Click the hamburger menu, and select Assets (Equipment) > Imported Assets.

  2. Switch to the Upload Assets section.
  3. Click Excel Template (All Attributes). An Excel file with attributes for all asset types gets downloaded to your device.

  4. Find the required asset type, fill out the necessary fields, and save the file.
  5. Click Select .xlxs File (With Custom Attributes), and open the required file. The system starts validating your file.
    1. If errors are found, download the results file, and check the last column to correct the errors. When ready, resubmit the file.
    2. If no errors are found, click Confirm Import.

  6. Once the file is processed, you are redirected to the Imported Assets section.

What fields should be filled out in the template depends on the asset refrigerant usage type: Rack, Connected To a Rack, Self Contained Asset, or Conventional. To boot, it is also important to check what asset type attributes are marked as required on the asset type details page.


Here is the information you are expected to provide. Mandatory fields are marked with a red asterisk .

 Refrigerant Usage Type

Your asset may belong to one of the following refrigerant usage types: 

  • Rack
  • Connected To a Rack
  • Self Contained Asset
  • Conventional

Manufactured DateDate when the asset was manufactured. The field is required if the asset is tracked by the CARB.

Warranty CategoryCategory of work orders when the asset is under warranty. Only fill in for equipment that is under warranty.

Warranty NTENot-to-exceed (NTE) amount of work orders when the asset is under warranty. Only fill in for equipment that is under warranty.

  • Primary Rank
  • Fixed Rank - 1 (use the required rank number instead of “1”)

Warranty Starts From Install Date

Enter True if the warranty starts from the asset install date. Only fill in for equipment that is under warranty.

Otherwise, enter False.

Energy EfficiencyEnergy efficiency percentage
Asset Tag

Decoded value contained in a barcode, QR code, or NFC tag that is applied to your assets.

✱ Rack id

Identification number of the rack. The field is required only for assets where the Refrigerant Usage Type of the asset type is Rack or Connected To a Rack.

Note

When you connect a refrigerated asset to a rack, enter the tag ID of the rack asset in the Rack id field. Don’t enter the rack ID.

✱ Rack Type

Temperature range of the rack. The field is required only for assets where the Refrigerant Usage Type of the asset type is Rack or Connected To a Rack.

One of the following types should be entered:

  • High
  • Low
  • Medium
  • Dual Temp

CapacityMaximum amount of the refrigerant the asset can contain

✱ Refrigerant Type

Name of the refrigerant type that your asset uses. The field is required for assets where the Refrigerant Usage Type is Rack and Self Contained Asset.

Note

The refrigerants used by your assets must be added to Inventory Manager before you create refrigerated assets.

Operational status of the asset. Enter one of the available options:

  • Inactive
  • Mothballed
  • Normal Operation
  • Provisional Operation
  • Remove
  • Retrofit In Progress
  • Seasonal - Non-Operation

  • Shutdown
  • Under Repair
The field is required for assets where the Refrigerant Usage Type is Rack and Self Contained Asset.

✱ Total ChargeThe current amount of refrigerant gases contained in the asset. The field is required for assets where the Refrigerant Usage Type is Rack, Self Contained Asset, and Conventional.

Name of the provider who identified the total charge of the system. Enter the name as it appears across the ServiceChannel platform.

If the required provider isn’t in the SC platform, you can manually enter the required company name.

✱ Effective DateThe date when the ​initial charge​ was done: MM/DD/YYYY. The field is required for assets where the Refrigerant Usage Type is Rack, Self Contained Asset, and Conventional.

  • Calculation

Enter True if your asset has a leak detector installed.

Enter False if the asset has no leak detector.

Is tracked by CARB

Enter True if your refrigerated or HVAC asset contains ozone depleting gases and meets the requirements to be tracked by the California Air Resources Board (CARB). The asset manufactured date needs to be specified in this case.

Enter False if your asset doesn’t contain that much of refrigerant and isn’t tracked by the CARB.

Enter True if the asset is no longer used, or you want to deactivate previously active equipment.
