Supply Manager offers you two types of catalogs:

  • Punchout catalog
  • Hosted catalog

Your Supply Manager shop can include hosted catalogs, punchout catalogs or both types depending on what you and your suppliers decide will work best for you. The main difference between catalog types is how these catalogs are built into Supply Manager.

Punchout catalog

A punchout catalog is a catalog where a User “punches out” of the ServiceChannel system and into the Suppliers online store to place their order. With a punchout catalog, supplier manages all product assortment and pricing details.

When you order from a punchout catalog, you are redirected from ServiceChannel to the supplier’s online store and back:

Hosted catalog

A hosted catalog is a catalog that is built in the ServiceChannel system. Supplier products are fixed in an Excel file, and then this file is uploaded, or ‘hosted’, in ServiceChannel

While you are making a Supply Manager order, all your actions take place inside the ServiceChannel system. Unlike the punchout catalog flow, there is no redirection to a supplier’s online store.

Any change of any product in the catalog requires uploading an updated catalog file into ServiceChannel.
