. Going forward, you may add additional internal technicians to the list.

You may either:
  • add a single technician; or
  • add multiple technicians using an Excel template.

    As your internal tech group is considered a “service provider,” you need to add these new technicians through Provider Automation.

    a Single Technician
    1. Click the plus (+) icon, either on top of the console or on the bottom of the list. The Add an Employee overlay appears.
    2. Enter the technician’s full name and email address.

    3. (Optional) In the message box, edit any information as necessary.
    4. Click Add Employee.

    title⦿ How to Add Multiple Technicians (Bulk Upload)
    1. On top of the Technician list, click Bulk Upload. The Bulk Upload overlay appears.
    2. Click Download Spreadsheet and then Save the Excel spreadsheet.

    3. Open the Excel spreadsheet and enter each technician’s name and email address, one per row.

    4. Save the spreadsheet once all technicians are added.
    5. In WorkForce, click Browse… to locate and select the spreadsheet on your hard drive, and then click Open or OK.
    6. Click Upload Spreadsheet. The technicians will list on the page for you to review the information for accuracy.
    7. (Optional) Click any field to edit information.
    8. Click Proceed. The email message appears.
    9. (Optional) In the message box, edit any information as necessary.
    10. Click Finish.
      • The technician appears in the WorkForce console.
      • The invited technician receives an email to download the Field Tech Manager app. See “Using FTM Mobile for the First Time” for more information on how your technicians sign up for FTM.

    Note: You may see statuses such as “No Response” or “Incomplete Profile” next to technicians’ names. These statuses relate to another ServiceChannel product, Site Access, which also uses WorkForce technology. Technicians using Field Tech Manager are not required to complete a profile, and therefore, this feature has no impact on using FTM.

    a User and Send a User Invitation
    1. Log in to Provider Automation.
    2. Click the hamburger menu in the upper-left corner, and select Administration > User Management.
    3. Click the Invite User button.

    4. Under the Basic column, enter the required information. (The required items are marked with an asterisk * in the list below the screenshot.)

      4. Email*

        Note

        Each user must have a valid email to be added to your company.

    5. Under the Access column, select the Technician from the User Role dropdown. The Technician access level (the Technician checkbox) gets automatically activated once you pick the Technician user role.Image Added

      • The Technician role signifies an employee responsible for accessing and completing work orders. 
      • All users assigned the Technician role automatically appear under Work Order Assignment where you can assign work orders to them
      • Users with this role can then access FTM work orders through the ServiceChannel Provider Mobile app.
      • Depending on your account configuration, you may have three levels of technicians: Technician, Supervising Tech, and Regional Manager. Learn more about Assigning User Roles and Permissions.


    6. Click Invite. Invited users are added to your internal technician group and are automatically sent an email to complete their profile. Below is the screenshot showing an example of the invitation email your tech will receive.

    7. On the User Management page, select the Invited radio button to view all users invited to your internal technician group.Image Added
