The Weather Overlay in Maps View allows you to interact with weather events in real-time. This helps you, for example, plan safety procedures for your locations and staff, or prepare providers for post-weather cleanup. Should you need to prepare for storms or clean up after storms, you can predictively create service requests to align providers with weather-related services, such as snow/ice removal or restoration services in flood-prone areas.

Note

Should you not have Weather available for your account, speak to your ServiceChannel Representative to enable it for your company.

Here, you can see both national and global weather events as well as local forecasts. The weather events you can view are:

Using the Legend and the Timeline to View Weather Events

While viewing weather events, use the Legend and the Timeline on the bottom of the screen to view past and forecasted of event paths and patterns. This is useful, for example, to see how severe a hurricane is and how it is predicted to travel, or how snowstorms will move across a geographical region.

Using the Weather Legend

When you select at least one event, the legend icon appears on the bottom-right of the page. Using this legend, you can identify the strength of storms, wind gusts, and snow/ice accumulations.

Using the Timeline

The timeline shows how selected weather events moved recently, and how they are predicted to move across geographical regions.

By default, the timeline runs 24 hours in the past and 36 hours into the future. You can alter these settings to extend up to 48 hours in the past and 120 hours (5 days) into the future.
