An MLP rule allows specific users within an MLP Level to take actions on proposals for thelocations they are assigned to in the MLP Levels section. MLP rules are configured using diverging approval paths for different trades or categories

You can have multiple rulesets with different approval workflows that are determined by trades and categories.

  • To access MLP rules, open Menu > MLP Configuration > MLP Rules.

Approval Workflow

MLP rules check each proposal to determine the appropriate approval workflow based on the criteria in the following order:

  1. The trade and category of each proposal.
  2. The MLP Level that should receive the proposal.
  3. The Actions the users added to that MLP Level can take:
    1. Approve
    2. Reject
    3. Place on Hold
    4. Return back
  4. The maximum proposal amount (or Limit) allowed for each action.
  5. After the action taken by an MLP Level user, the rule determines if the proposal should be moved to any other level. For example, forwarded to another level for approval or returned to the first level.
  6. After the action is taken, the proposal is set to a certain proposal status. For example, if the user is at the final approval level, if they approve a proposal, the proposal status becomes Approved.
  7. If you determine the number of days each MLP Level has to act on a proposal, after these days the proposal escalates to the next level in the approval flow. See Auto-Escalating Proposals for details.

  • In the MLP Rules section, click on one of the existing rulesets to open this ruleset’s configuration or click + Add Rule Setto create a new set for the levels

Note

TheDefault Rule Set is created once at least one MLP level is added and must be configured before adding a new ruleset.
