Creating Refrigerated Assets

Creating refrigerated assets requires that you have first added refrigerated inventory in Inventory Manager and have created a refrigerated asset type, with the appropriate attributes, for the asset you are creating.

Note

Note: If you need set up assets that are connected to a rack, you must create the rack asset type and rack asset before you can associate assets that are connected to a rack.

tip
Create a Refrigerated Asset
  1. Navigate to Manage Asset, which is located under the menu on the top left of the screen and is titled Asset (Equipment).
  2. Select Add Asset.
  3. Select the location where the asset will be located, by entering the location ID number.
  4. Under Area enter the physical area where the asset will be placed within the location.
  5. Select the Asset Type that the asset is associated with from the drop down menu.

Note

Note: After you have selected the Asset Type, the screen will populate with the additional requirements for the asset you are creating. Fields followed by a red asterisk are required and must have a value entered into the field.

The next step in the process is to create the assets. There are three distinct types of refrigerated assets, a Rack, an asset Connected to a Rack and a Self Contained unit. If you are creating an asset connected to a rack, you will have to create the rack asset first, so it will be selectable when creating the asset connected to it.

Note

Note: When creating a refrigerated asset, you have the option of adding a service provider who is not currently registered with ServiceChannel. ServiceChannel has created this feature to provide your company with the flexibility to work and manage external service provider relationships. This feature provides an additional layer of accountability and tracking, as required by local and national laws.
