Settings that control your providers’ ability to update asset statuses live on the Asset Rules page of Service Automation. Admins can specify whether the asset status change can be made by providers via the Provider Automation web app, by technicians via the ServiceChannel Provider mobile app, or via both the web and mobile apps.

It should be noted that the asset status is always visible to providers on the asset details page as part of general asset information — even if providers have no power to update the status.

In Provider Automation, providers can use all four statuses. In SC Provider, however, only two statuses become available to technicians: In Use and Out For Repair. |
