Uploading and Downloading Locations and Stock Records

In the upper-left corner of the Locations tab, you can find the Upload and Download buttons that allow you to import and export inventory information.
Exporting Inventory Locations and Stock Records
Use the Download button on the Locations tab to export the following:
- Stock records. The downloaded file contains the list of all parts that are stored at each of your inventory locations.
- Inventory location details. The file includes the list of all inventory locations with such details as the location number, name, and type. No parts info is available in this file.
- Stock records template. This is a blank Excel template for adding parts to inventory locations.
Importing Location Stock Records
Use the Upload button on the Locations tab to add stock records to inventory locations — in other words, to add information on parts that are stored at inventory locations.
Before you get down to uploading stock records, you should import parts to your catalog.
Tips and Best Practices
Here are a few tips and best practices regarding stock records. Take a moment to look over these tips to ensure you upload stock records correctly.
Click the plus icon to view the tip in detail.
- On the Locations tab, click Download, and select the Stock Records Template option.
A blank template for adding parts to locations is downloaded to your device. - Open the template, provide the required information, and save the file. In the screenshot below, you can see which columns are mandatory (highlighted in orange) and which ones are optional.
- Location Unique ID: You don't need to fill out this column.
- * Store #: Identification number of the location (location ID) where you want to add a part.
- * Is Truck?: If your inventory location belongs to the Truck type, enter TRUE in this column; if your location is not a truck, enter FALSE.
- * Part Number: Enter the part number as it appears in your parts catalog.
- * Qty: Enter the on-hand quantity of the part at the location.
Unit Price: Enter the part price.
Please note that entering the unit price is not a requirement anymore.
- Max Quantity: Enter the maximum number of a part that should never be exceeded at the location.
- Min Quantity: Enter the least number of a part that should never fall below at the location.
- Area: Specify the area within your inventory location where the part is stored.
- Aisle: Specify the aisle within this area where the part is stored.
- Shelf: Specify the shelf where the part is located.
- Bin: Specify the bin the part is placed into.
- Click Upload. The Upload Stock overlay appears where you can either drag and drop the completed template or browse to choose the file from your device.
- Should errors be found in your file, upload the results file with errors, and check the last column in the file. Correct the errors, and re-upload your file.
When no errors are found, click Done.
