Modifying an Issue List

A word of caution: Modifying the Issue List is an advanced feature. Issue Lists that are not configured correctly will disrupt your workflow and work order distribution. We recommend that you work with your ServiceChannel representative if you are unfamiliar with Microsoft Excel and/or the various tabs within the issue list.

An issue list is first configured during your implementations project plan as a new customer. Over time, your facilities needs can change or new features are added, prompting you to update your issue list. You can download and adjust your issue list at any time.

When changing the issue list, you are essentially changing how a work order is created in the dashboard. For example, changing certain problem codes and groups will impact how a work order is submitted. When an issue list has been adjusted and saved, it needs to be uploaded back into the Issue List Converter page. This ensures the newly adjusted issue list is added and made available for selection when adding into a dashboard.

⦿ How to Download an Existing Issue List
  1. Navigate to Edit Navigation Settings > Convert Issue Issue List.
  2. Located on the upper right side of the Issue List Box, find an existing issue list file and click the Download link to download and open the file.

Once an Issue List is uploaded and connected to a dashboard, you can Download it at any time to make modifications. In doing so, it saves time from having to search and locate from the Issue Lists side, or to start from scratch.

⦿ How to Download an Issue List from the Dashboards Side
  1. Navigate to Edit Navigation Settings > Convert Issue List.
  2. Under either side of the Issue List sections, click the Download Icon next to the corresponding issue list. A dialog box will appear.
  3. Save the issue list onto your computer.

Uploading an Issue List and Mapping it to a Dashboard

When saving your issue list, we recommend adding the date and to the file name you updated it in case you need to download it in the future, you will know which one is most current.  

Once an issue list has been modified and saved, you must upload it back into the system in order for it to be selected as the new issue list for a dashboard. Once you upload the issue list, you can map it to a Dashboard in 2 ways:

  • Dragging and dropping the file from the Issue Lists area to the Dashboards area; or
  • Clicking the pencil icon to the right of the Dashboard and selecting an issue list.

⦿ How to Upload an Issue List and Map it to a Dashboard
  1. Navigate to Edit Navigation Settings > Convert Issue List.
  2. Click the Upload New Issue List button to add the Issue List.
  3. Click the Select File button to add the file.
  4. Click the Upload button to upload the file into the Issue Lists.
  5. Find the issue list file that will be used for a dashboard located on the left hand side.
  6. Select the issue list via one of 2 methods:
    1. Select and drag the file into a particular dashboard on the left hand side to configure the issue list, or
    2. Click the pencil to the right of the Dashboard, and then select the issue list. 

The issue list will update, as indicated on the bottom of the screen under History.

When an area has been added or removed from the issue list, it also needs to be added or removed under the Areas tab.
