Configuring MLP Approval Permissions for a User
- Anastasiya Dashuk (Unlicensed)
If you have the Multilevel Proposal (MLP) approval set up, multiple employees who are added to the MLP hierarchy of your organization can view and take action on proposals. It may happen that a person who is assigned to one of the MLP levels becomes unavailable due to sick leave, vacation, or another reason. Thus, they cannot carry out their duties of approving proposals submitted for particular locations. When you need to temporarily replace a staff member, you can allow another person to make decisions on proposals without having to upload a new MLP Levels template.
On the user profile page in the Admin module, you can assign an employee to a specific MLP level and appoint them to approve proposals submitted for particular locations. This option empowers you to add the user to the MLP hierarchy of your company in a few steps without the need to use templates. You can disable the employee’s permission to take action on MLP proposals at any time.
Note that updating the MLP approval permissions of users does not affect existing proposals or any related calculations.
Enabling MLP Approval Permissions
You can add a user to a specific MLP level and allow them to take action on proposals submitted for particular locations.
- In the upper-left corner, click the menu icon, and select Admin > Permissions > Users. The list of users appears.
- Search for the employee you want to configure MLP permissions for.
- Click Edit User in the Actions column next to the desired user.
- On the user profile page that appears, navigate to the MLP Approval tab.
- From the drop-down list on the left, select the MLP level you want to assign the employee to. Note that you can add the user to only one MLP level.
Select for which locations you empower the user to approve proposals in the list on the right. To pick multiple locations, press Ctrl (Command ⌘ on macOS) or Shift. To choose all options, select the All Locations checkbox.
To be able to take action on proposals submitted for a specific location, the user must have access to the location and Location Note Header (LNH). You cannot assign a location if the user doesn't have the required permissions.
- Click Save to confirm your changes.
The MLP approval configuration of your organization is updated based on the applied changes.
Disabling MLP Approval Permissions
You may need to remove the employee from the MLP hierarchy and disable their MLP approval permissions.
- On the MLP Approval tab of the user profile page, select None from the Select Level drop-down list.
- Click Save to apply the changes.
The employee is removed from the MLP approval configuration.
