When changes take place requiring you to edit data for multiple assets, the template is the best way to bring about the required updates.
What Updates Can Be Done via the Template
You can update existing assets, deactivate assets, and add new assets via the upload of the template with standard attributes.
It should be noted that no assets can be deleted via the template. If the template you upload doesn’t contain records on assets that exist in Asset Manager, these assets will not be affected by the template upload.
General Workflow
Follow the 4 steps described below to update your asset data for assets en masse — without having to fill out an MS Excel template from scratch.

Even though the exported file contains more columns than required for the upload, there is no need to remove any columns. This is because the file can serve the two functions:
- It is a report that provides complete asset data.
- It is a template that can be used to update multiple assets in bulk.
When you use the template with the second function in mind, all you need is to make the required updates, and reupload the file.
