Features and improvements
Core modules
Checklists. We’ve updated the way we display responses to checklist questions of the acknowledgment type. With this release, when providers give a positive answer to a question, the WO details page will display Yes as an answer under the question. Negative answers will be captured as No. Previously, we used On and Off answers, which brought confusion.
Add-on modules
ServiceNow. You can enable or disable the work order number synchronization between ServiceNow and ServiceChannel. Find the Work Order Number Field Synchronization setting in Administration > System Properties.
- Once the synchronization is enabled, a work order that you create in ServiceNow will be transferred to ServiceChannel with the same WO number. This rule also applies to service requests created via ServiceChannel.
- When the synchronization is disabled, the WO number from ServiceNow will not appear on work orders in ServiceChannel no matter via which platform the WO is created.
Bug fixes
Core modules
Admin. In the user profile, we had an issue with password settings. With the Not Enforced (Use default) option selected for a user under the Password Complexity tab, the Password Aging information could be edited, but the changes were not saved. Now, if you select Not Enforced (Use default), the Password Aging displays the default company settings and cannot be edited.
Invoices. Although you required labor charges to be broken into line items, the system allowed providers to bypass this requirement and submit invoices with no line items for labor costs. Now, invoices cannot be created until the required information is entered.
Invoices. The Close button on the invoice details page disappeared in some cases, leaving you with no quick way to exit the detailed view and go back to the invoices list. A bit of glue and some sleight of hand have worked wonders: the button sticks to its position.
Planned Maintenance Manager. Uploading a PM template with work orders led to generating twice as many WOs as listed in the template. You might have faced the issue if you double-clicked the Submit for Processing button when importing the template. The number of clicks doesn’t mess things up anymore.
Provider Directory. Providers’ attempts to update insurance documents under the Clients tab resulted in endless loading, and hitting the Save and Send for Approval button triggered an error message. The temporary glitch is not an issue anymore.
Add-on modules
ServiceNow. Even though employees had no required permission to update work order statuses, they still could take this action in ServiceNow. The WO status got updated in ServiceNow but stayed intact in ServiceChannel. Permissions are respected now. No status change is allowed via ServiceNow if an employee is missing the corresponding permission. P.S. To grant user permissions, log in to your ServiceChannel account, and navigate to the user’s profile in the Admin module.
ServiceNow. When you were creating a work order in ServiceNow and the selected area, problem type, asset type, and problem code were supposed to trigger a troubleshooting message, the message failed to show up. As a result, your service request couldn’t be created. Now, if there is a troubleshooting message configured for you in your dashboard issue list, you will see the message right away.
ServiceNow. Notes added to work orders via ServiceNow appeared with incorrect usernames in ServiceChannel. These weren’t the names of the people who actually posted the notes, which caused confusion. WO note authors are treated with due respect now, and their names are not replaced with someone else’s in ServiceChannel.
